Welcome Infantry OCS Class 5-68
97th Company

(started as 90th Company)
Thanks for checking in

Following our graduation on 5 February 1968 we all went our separate ways, fully armed with our new 2LT bars, and the knowledge that we had "survived" the course and were better men for it. Most of us were commissioned Infantry, but a few were Military Intelligence and even fewer of other branches. Some went on to Airborne school, Ranger training, Special Forces, flight school, and other service schools. It's unlikely that many of us missed the opportunity to serve at least one tour in Southeast Asia.

Some 37 years have now passed and the time seems right to consider where we and our fellow classmates have been and what we have been doing with our lives. Certainly some have fallen, some have risen, and some are no longer with us on this planet. Regardless of our circumstances, however, we do all share a common bond that our 6 months together at Fort Benning created. This website is the opportunity for us to come together again, this time electronically, to renew that bond.

A good place to begin is to identify the status and whereabouts of our fellow classmates. Then on to photos, stories, and other memorabilia. This website is a great vehicle and a very effective communications medium for sharing.

Please feel free to share whatever memories are appropriate for this site. I will greatly appreciate your input to our website. Feel free to e-mail me your contact information and materials.

Best Regards,

P.S. - During April 1-4, 2004, 41 classmates of INF OCS Class 5-68 and 28 guests gathered in Columbus, GA for our first reunion in over 36 years! It was a wonderful event. Based upon its overwhelming success and the consensus of the attendees, we have established a goal of conducting our next reunion in two years (2006). We remain committed to locate every graduate in plenty of time to ensure that all surviving members of our class receive personal invitations to attend. Join us by helping us locate any and all missing classmates. You may find your platoon alumni coordinator's contact information on the Class Roster and Contact pages of this website.
